The Brief
One of the biggest challenges facing Microsoft with promoting a complex technology product is explaining its features in ways that are both relevant and engaging to store staff who sell the devices.
Microsoft briefed KLP to get the retail channel ready for a new range of Pocket PC's and Smartphones with Windows Mobile software installed. The solution needed to educate staff in key retail outlets and get them excited about the devices, so they were able to demonstrate the key features to customers.
The Solution
KLP created an innovative virtual tour requiring the target audience – in this case, retail store staff – to interact with the product. Each product benefit required its own conceptual idea, which was grounded in humour & ‘laddish’ themes that appeal directly to the target audience.
The tour was developed and hosted within the newly launched retail website – ‘Think Windows Mobile’.
HTML email and printed postcard mechanics, with prize draw incentive, were developed to drive retail staff to the website. The postcard was distributed during face-to-face Field Force visits.
