The Brief
Mimco approached Spin Communications (now WeAreDigital) in 2007 to pitch for the rebuild of www.mimco.com.au.
The main aim of the project was to establish an online channel that would compete with Mimco’s traditional retail stores while providing a creative outlet for the brand.
The ongoing promotional and marketing strategy was an important consideration as part of the response.
The Solution
Spin developed a custom e-commerce and content management platform for the project, with an online shop that delivered all of the commerce functionailty and content sections to amplify the brand.
A clean design, simple information architecture and filter tools help emulate the in-store browse experience while the product pages and checkout process guide users through a straight forward and intuative purchasing process.
Integration with the stock management and POS system automates many of the behind-the-scenes processes.
My Involvement
I worked on the pitch team, formulating the online strategy and development approach that would provide the retailer with a scalable e-commerce platform.
After successfully winning the business, I supervised the team who delivered the project and provided support for the online marketing activity and rollout of www.mimco.co.uk.
